You'll feel supported and encouraged to deepen your practice. Retreats are the best way to relax and renew, while being in a learning environment.
Between your classes, you will have plenty of free time to enjoy yourself. There will be options for hiking, horseback riding, thermal baths, biking trails, cooking classes and wine tasting. Or take that time for a nice nap or to read a book in the quiet and calm environment. Sessions may also be arranged with a therapist of massage, Radionics, Tibetan pulsing, Family Constellations or Naturopathy.
Give yourself this time you deserve to realign your body, mind and spirit.
THE RETREAT CENTER
Ebbio is the perfect retreat location in the heart of Tuscany. It is a restored 13th century farm beautifully transformed in a tranquil spot for retreats and holidays. Nestled inside an evergreen forest, it sits on an extinct volcano that was sacred to the Etruscans, and overlooks the medieval walled town of Monteriggioni.
Ebbio’s family includes Sibilla, Francesca, Dimitri, Nushi, Bardi, Annamaria, the beloved Wwoofers, as well as geese, chickens, horses, donkeys, dogs, cats and plenty of butterflies. The country ways of old Italy are preserved here, where they dedicate themselves to the organic cultivation of olive trees, vineyards, fruits, vegetables and herbs, which they then use in preparing our home-made vegetarian meals. The unique décor of the ten bedrooms builds on this traditional heritage, with earthly colours and windows onto the rolling Tuscan hills.

The House
The thick walls and terracotta tiles of the house will keep you cool in the summer and cosy in the winter, and the many windows let the lavender-scented breeze come through. The ten uniquely-furnished rooms cluster around a spacious communal area containing a traditional fireplace. The ground floor, has a multi-purpose wooden floor activity room of 100m², which has an adjoining bathroom. There is also a massage room, as well as a wood-burning pizza oven.
Much of Ebbio life is spent outdoors, often at the large communal tables under the shade of the pergolas, where you can eat the meals prepared in Ebbio's professional kitchen using their own produce. For a moment to oneself, there are plenty of chairs in the sun and hammocks in the shade, ideal for sunbathing, reading or star-gazing. The practice of yoga in an heavenly place combined with the idea of travel is a dreamy vision to all of us. The joys that come out of it are so obvious that we easily forget the environmental impact that it can have.
It so happens that the plane, despite its indisputable advantages (speed, price) is the most polluting way of transportation available.
We think that being a yogi does not only mean taking care of our own well being and health, but also that of the planet on which we live.
For this reason we encourage our students to travel by train or shared car.
In today’s world where climate change and erosion of biodiversity threaten our long term survival, it seems to us essential to redefine our ways of travelling. By moving around at a more human speed, we learn to appreciate the distance separating us from our destination. And once arrived, we have a feeling of total escape and being truly far from home. Every mile that we lived fully on the road, with the scenery scrolling by, gives us a deep feeling of exoticism and authenticity once we have reached our destination.
ON SITE ACTIVITIES
Cooking workshop
An introduction into the culture of seasonal, balanced and healthy cooking. You will mix the garden's organic ingredients, creating unique tasteful combinations inspired by traditional gastronomy.
Foraging
Ebbio will share all the secrets of nature and its fruit with you; we can take you for walks in search for ‘treasures’. Your findings would vary according to seasons, and include flowers, wild asparagus, wild herbs, wild fruits, berries, nuts and mushrooms.
We can then use these ‘treasures’ for the preparation of wonderful healthy dishes, unguents, or cosmetics.
Wine tasting
We can arrange for our visitors to visit local wineries, where you would be welcomed in charming and genuine family-owned properties, ready to teach you about the fascinating process of winemaking. Guests are invited to taste authentic wines and extra virgin olive oil, with accompanying snacks to enhance the flavours.
Wellbeing
To enhance your healing and restorative stay at Ebbio, we have created links with an exclusive range of therapists in the specialties of Radionics, Guidance, Tibetan pulsing, Family Constellations, Naturopathy and others. We also have links with practitioners of a range of massage types, including Thai, Craniosacral, Chakra-balancing, Relaxation, Body-Counselling, Shiatsu and Sports Massage.

THE TEACHERS
AUDREY GORDON
She is an RYT 300hr Yoga Instructor and ACE fitness personal trainer. She’s been dedicated to her own daily practice for over 10 years and for the past 6 years she has taught throughout Asia and currently in Geneva, Switzerland. She is passionate about living a life of health, quality movement, personal growth and sharing that with like-minded people. Her classes are dynamic, with the intention to leave students feeling energized, encouraged and also relaxed. She likes to weave a bit of humor into each session, as she always wants to push the limits, but also makes it a point to not take it all too seriously in the end. Her flows work on building strength, flexibility, balance along with playful arm balances and inversions. Meditation and pranayama is also a part of each class for overall well-being of mind, body and spirit.
ALEX PEREZ
Alex was born in Paris and grew up in Geneva, Switzerland. It is only when he left his hometown though, that his true passion was revealed to him.
He discovered yoga in a park in Barcelona, while he was a university exchange student. Since then, his passion for yoga kept growing exponentially, and with it a deep and uncontrollable impulse to teach and share what he considers a form of art.
Since then, Alex embarked on a journey seeking the best teachings, so he could transmit this art of yoga to his students in the most comprehensive and modern way possible. His quest led him to Bali, London, Paris and New York, where he was able to practice and learn with teachers such as Mathieu Boldron, David Kyle (main figure in Rocket Yoga), Paul Grilley (“father” of Yin yoga) and many others.
Over the course of his apprenticeship, Alex was able to develop his own way of teaching, a non-rigid and modern form of teaching, above all based on a scientific understanding of mouvement and of the body.
Having studied medicine for six years, he uses his profound anatomical and physiological knowledge to adapt his guidance to the unique physiognomy of each of his students, herewith creating a safe environment for all to freely express their body wisdom through movement.
